2. Supervising the teaching of Islamic Religious Education in schools and colleges.

3. Collaborate to manage formation with individual Muslims, groups and institutions in finding resources and manpower to carry out the responsibility of providing training and formation of Islam through the education system in the country.

Panel Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Panel as set out in the text are the following:

(i)  To prepare, review and modify the outlines of Islamic Knowledge Education and Arabic language from primary schools, primary, madrasas, secondary schools to teacher training colleges as well as prepare textbooks and extras that are compatible with those outlines.

(ii)  Prepare, review and give advice on Islamic studies course outlines in various fields at the university level and other higher education institutions.

(iii)  Collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and its organizations/departments, the Tanzania Education Institute, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar and the Tanzania Examinations Council.

(iv) To monitor and supervise the teaching of the subject of Islamic Knowledge, and the subject of the Arabic Language starting from primary schools, madrasas, primary, secondary and colleges.

(v) Collaborate with Islamic Institutions, individual Muslims or groups of Muslims in the country and abroad to do the following;

Organizing seminars for teachers, pastors, imams and young people to motivate them and enable them to teach the subject of Islamic Religious Education in all Tanzanian schools.

Coordinating the teaching of Islamic Religious Education throughout the country.

(vi) To monitor the distortion of the teachings of Islam

(vii) Collecting data and conducting research on various matters related to Islam historically, culturally, economically, politically, etc.
